Muni – San Francisco

The Municipal Railway, known universally as Muni, is one of the oldest transit systems on the globe, dating from 1912. It is the largest transit system in the Bay Area and seventh largest in the nation, serving more than 200 million customers a year. Not just a commuter system, Muni is a mode of choice to the City’s wealth of cultural, sporting and entertainment venues. It also provides seamless connections to other Bay Area public transit systems such as BART, AC Transit, Golden Gate Transit and Ferries, SamTrans, Caltrain, the Santa Clara Valley Transit Authority and the ferries.
